Have you made your vacation plans yet? If you’re still considering where you would like to spend your time away from work, you’ll want to consider these New Jersey destinations.

Vernon, NJ

If you’ve never visited Vernon, NJ, in the summer, you’re missing out on an ideal vacation spot. Skiing enthusiasts know that Vernon is the place to be during the winter months, but the action doesn’t stop when warm weather arrives.

The mountain setting is the perfect place to hike, fish, golf or simply work on your tan. Camping is available in the area, but roughing it isn’t the only option. Two local resorts provide luxury accommodations and enough activities to keep you busy for a week or two.

Crystal Springs Resort offers tennis, swimming, fitness classes, in addition to six golf courses designed by Robert Von Hagge, George Fazio and other top golf course designers. After a long day on the court or course, soothe tired muscles with a trip to the spa or sauna, then relax in your comfortable room or suite.

Mountain Creek Resort is the perfect vacation spot for adrenaline junkies. The newly opened TreEscape aerial adventure park and ropes course features 10 ropes courses, while the Mountain Creek Bike Park offers more than 50 trails designed for novices and expert mountain bike riders alike. If you’re a golfer, you’ll want to try one of the three George Fazio-designed courses at the Resort’s Great Gorge Golf Course. Mountain Creek Resort also offers a water park, ziplines, a laser maze, bowling, horseback riding , fishing and other activities.

While you’re in the area, you may want to spend a few hours or a day at Wawayanda State Park. Twenty of the park’s 60 miles of trails are part of the Appalachian Trail system. Bird watching is a favorite activity at Wawayanda. As you follow a mountain trail, you might spot a great blue heron or a red-shouldered hawk through your binoculars. The park also offers a swimming lake, camping and boating.

Cape May, NJ

Not surprisingly, the beach is the main attraction in most New Jersey shore towns, but that’s not the case in Cape May. Although the oceanside location definitely draws visitors, the town itself is the reason many people visit. The national historic district features gracious Victorian homes that now house inns, vacation rentals, restaurants and stores. If you’re looking for a vacation spot with plenty of ambiance, Cape May is the perfect vacation destination.

Some of the most impressive inns and B&B’s are located on Beach avenue, including Congress Hall, once the summer White House of President Benjamin Harrison. The resort has been beautifully restored with period furnishings and offers 108 guest rooms and suites, a gym, spa and three full-service restaurants. Just outside the doors of Congress Hall, you’ll find plenty to keep your busy, from leisurely walks along the beach to evening ghost tours to parasailing.

Point Pleasant Beach

Easy access to the beach is one of the most appealing things about living in New Jersey. Point Pleasant Beach, located an hour east of Bridgewater, offers all the things you need for a perfect beach vacation, including a wide, sandy beach, a one-mile-long boardwalk and plenty of food options. When you need a break from the waves, try your hand at an arcade game, rent a bicycle or explore the coastline on a dinner cruise.

Accommodations in Point Pleasant Beach include luxurious inns, comfortable hotels and classic motels. If you’re looking for more private accommodations, you’ll want to consider a vacation rental. Rentals provide plenty of room for the entire family, plus some even include private pools.

Rain doesn’t have to spoil your vacation when you stay at Point Pleasant Beach. In fact, it offers the perfect excuse to get in a little antiquing or visit the sharks, penguins and seals at Jenkinson’s Aquarium.

No matter what type of vacation you prefer, it’s always nice to come home again. When you live in Fairway 28 – A Country Classics Rental Community, you’ll never be more than an hour from these vacation spots. The one- and two-bedroom apartments feature large kitchens and bathrooms, abundant closet space and private balconies. Call us today to schedule a tour of the community.
